Ski Jumping World Cup: Charter flight to Ruka

Already the trip to the second stop of the Ski Jumping World Cup will be affected by the current Covid-19 situation.

Stefan Kraft, Kamil Stoch, Karl Geiger, and all the others will travel to Ruka, near the Arctic Circle, with a charter flight.

"Most of the teams will be on board when we travel from Munich to Ruka on November 25th. This charter flight gives us, as a group, better planning security and it's a big advantage for the teams", explains the new FIS Race Director Sandro Pertile, who has personally organized this flight in the past couple of days.

"The group will stay together and there will be as little contact as possible to everybody else. Every person on board will have an accreditation for the competitions in Ruka and has therefore been tested", says Pertile. "In addition, we expect that the entry to Finland directly in Ruka will be less complicated than if all the teams arrive in Helsinki separately."

So nothing shall stand in the way of the event in Ruka, which will be held with no spectators due to the national restrictions in Finland.

There will also be a charter flight for the trip from Ruka to the following competitions in Nizhny Tagil (RUS). It will be a flight from Rovaniemi to Ekaterinburg, the return trip will go straight to Ljubljana (SLO), from where the athletes will go directly to Planica, where the Ski Flying World Championships will be held from December 11th to 13th.
