Team Slovenia took revenge after a very tight competition last year with Austria. With yesterday's qualification, the victory of Slovenia was no surprise anymore. Slovenian team confirmed they were the local hero this year and won the team competition in Ljubno on Saturday afternoon ahead of Norway, the third place going then to Austria.

Being the first athlete to compete, Ema Klinec posted the longest jump of the competition with 96m, pushing the whole team to give the best to keep leading the competition. Being the fourth and last one, Nika Kriznar was overloaded by tears and emotion at the end of the competition as she was not satisfied with her two jumps nor her first landing. Spela Rogelj and Ursa Bogataj completed the team to score a total of 1064.8 points.

Norway finished second with a strong Maren Lundby. With Eirin Maria Kvandal, Thea Minyan Bjoerseth and Silje Opseth, Norway came with a difference of less than 20 points behind Slovenia. New in this world cup season, the 19-year-old Eirin Maria was a lot more stressed than for an individual event but she found in the end it was also more fun. She was happy to be for the first time on the podium.

Austria came third
Daniela Iraschko-Stolz, Lisa Eder, Chiara Hoelzl and Marita Kramer finished third, letting now Slovenia lead the nations ranking with 54 points in advance.  "Teams is always very special as we are cheering for every single woman but we have some space to improve for tomorrow" mentioned Chiara Hoelzl.

This was the first team event of the season and the bigger ever with 13 teams participating. Japan finished fourth ahead of Germany, which followed almost 100 points behind Slovenia. Poland scored in today's team event.

The second competition in Ljubno, an individual event, starts on Sunday at 2 pm CET.
