The Russian national champions were crowned in Sochi

The Russian men's and women's Ski Jumping championships were held on the Olympic hills in Sochi on the past couple of days.

The victory in the men's competition on the HS 106 normal hill went to Aleksandr Bazhenov. He scored a total of 206.0 points with his jumps of 92.5 m and 92 m.
Vladislav Musafin came in second with two jumps of 91.5 m and 200.8 points. After a 89 m jump in the first round, Ilmir Hazetdinov could move up from five to third with the best jump in the final round of 92.5 m and 199.8 points.
The places four, five, and six went to Mikhail Purtov, Oleg Pavlenko, and Emil Calimullin.

Two days after the event on the normal hill, Ilmir Hazetdinov won the competition on the HS 133 large hill on Saturday with the best jumps in both rounds of 129 m and 124 m, that earned him a total of 229.5 points.
Vitalj Ivanov was fourth after the first round with 123.5 m and then moved up to the second place on the podium with 126.5 m in the final and 215.7 points. Nikita Loboda was third with 125.5 m and 121 m and 214.4 points.
Aleksandr Loginov, Mikhail Purtov, and Oleg Pawlenko came in fourth, fifth, and sixth.

Irma Makhinia took a surprising win in the women's competition on the normal hill with 95 m and 90.5 m and 204.8 points. The second and third place went to Sofia Tikhonova (89 m and 92 m; 196.3 points) and Irina Avvakumova (86.5 m and 85 m; 177.3 points).

In the final event of the championships, the team of the Moscow Region, represented by Konstantin Izvolskii, Nikolay Matavin, Maksim Alchikov, and Ilmir Hazetdinov, took a clear win with 790.9 points. The other two spots on the podium went to Perm (Fjodor Novikov, Konstantin Nikolaev, Vladislav Mustafin, Olep Pavlenko; 741.1 points) and the Republic of Tatarstan (Pyslan Akhmetshin, Mars Sadreev, Emil Callimulin, Aleksandr Loginov; 725.2 points).
