Victories for Dawid Kubacki and Joanna Szwab in Szczyrk

Dawid Kubacki and Joanna Szwab claimed the titles at the Polish Ski Jumping Championships on the normal hill in Szczyrk.

On Saturday evening, Dawid Kubacki, who won both FIS Grand Prix competitions in August in Wisla, proved that he is still in strong shape also in fall. The 30-year-old won the exciting competition with jumps of 98.5 m and 98 m and 262.7 points.

With his jumps of 97.5 m and 98.5 m, Andrzej Stekala scored only one point less than the winner and finished second with 261.7 points. The third place went to Klemens Muranka with 96 m and 99.5 m and 260.2 points.

Aleksander Zniszczol was fourth and missed the podium by only one point, Maciej Kot and Stefan Hula came in fifth and sixth.
Kamil Stoch could not take part in this event due to an illness.

The win in the women's competition went to Joanna Szwab with 90.5 m and 97 m and 213.5 points. Local hero Kinga Rajda was second with 208.0 points (89 m and 95 m), Anna Twardosz followed in third with 199.5 points (85.5 m and 94 m).

The Championships concluded with the team event on Sunday, which was won by WSS Wisla I (Pawel Wasek, Piotr Zyla, Kacper Juroszek, Aleksander Zniszczol) with 1038.5 points, ahead of AZS Zakopane I (Mateusz Gruszka, Stanislaw Ciszek, Andrzej Stekala, Maciej Kot; 913.5 points) and TS Wisla Zakopane I (Klemens Muranka, Dawid Jarzabek, Jan Rzadosz, Dawid Kubacki; 893.5 points).
