Due to the cancellation of the event in Chaikovsky (RUS) late March, the 2021/22 season of the Continental Cup already ended with the third competition in Zakopane (POL). In this winter's final competition, a local hero stood on top of the podium.

Poland's Andrzej Stekala was fifth after the first round with 133.5 m, but in the final the 26-year-old then had the best jump of the round with 140.5 m and so he could claim his second win in the Continental Cup. Andrzej Stekala took his first win a while ago, in December 2015.

For Jan Bombek of Slovenia this season ended on a high note, with a career-best result. With jumps of 136 m and 139 m and a total score of 250.8 points he came in second, after finishing in the Top 10 twice yesterday, and crowned a very good weekend on the Wielka Krokiew.

The third place went to Bombek's teammate Ziga Jelar, who was in the lead at halftime. With 138.5 m and 129 m and 249.4 points, the Slovene once again proved his consistency, he was on the podium in seven of the last ten COC's he took part in.

Yet another strong team result of Slovenia was completed by Bor Pavlovcic, who came in fifth just behind Norway's Joacim Oedegaard Bjoereng. Philipp Raimund of Germany was sixth, followed by the two Austrians Hannes Landerer and Thomas Lackner in seventh and eighth.
Stefan Hula (9th) and Aleksander Zniszczol (10th) of Poland also finished in the Top 10 this afternoon.

The race for the overall win of the 2021/22 Continental Cup was decided in the very last competition of the season today. In the end, Thomas Lackner was able to defend his lead and claim the overall title with his total of 1010 points. Joacim Oedegaard Bjoereng ends the season in second place with 997 points, Ulrich Wohlgenannt is third with 798 points.
