The official training for the men's Continental Cup in Innsbruck had to be canceled on Friday afternoon due to the strong wind, and the weather, this time mainly the snowfall, also lead to various delays on Saturday.

This difficult first competition on the Bergisel-hill was already decided after one round due to the weather conditions, and in this one round, the athletes of Slovenia and Austria were fighting for the top positions.

The best on Saturday afternoon in Innsbruck was Slovenia's Anze Semenic. The 28-year-old took his first win in the COC in almost two years with a jump of 126.5 m and a total of 118.8 points. This winter two sixth places were his best results until today.

The second place went to Thomas Lackner of Austria with 123 m and 116.1 points, Jan Bombek of Slovenia posted a jump of 122 m and finished third with his total of 112.6 points. For both, Lackner and Bombek, this is the first-ever podium in a Continental Cup competition.

The outstanding team result of the hosting team of Austria was completed by Ulrich Wohlgenannt, Markus Schiffner, and Maximilian Steiner in fourth, fifth, and sixth, as well as Markus Ruptisch, Stefan Rainer, and Markus Mueller in eighth, ninth, and tenth.
In between the Austrians, another Slovenian jumper came in among the best today with Zak Mogel in seventh.
The best jumper from a different nation than Slovenia or Austria was Norway's Bendik Jakobsen Heggli in eleventh.

In the overall ranking of the COC, Ulrich Wohlgenannt (610 points) remains in the lead ahead of his teammate Thomas Lackner (449 points) and Norway's Joacim Oeegaard Bjoereng (367 points).
The second competition in Innsbruck starts on Sunday at 10 am CET.
