COC-M: Next win for Ulrich Wohlgenannt

Ulrich Wohlgenannt, who was already the best on the Schattenberg-will on Saturday afternoon, also won the second competition of the Continental Cup in Oberstdorf (GER) on Sunday.

In difficult, changing wind conditions, which lead to various interruptions especially during the first round, the Austrian was sixth at halftime with 126.5 m, but then he was able to secure his fourth win of the season with 131 m in the final round and a total of 296.2 points.

Narrowly behind the winner, Norway's Anders Haare, fifth in this weekend's first competition, came in second today with his jumps of 127.5 m and 134 m and 295.1 points.

Local hero Justin Lisso was in the lead after the first round with 139.5 m, and even if he was not able to defend this top position with his second jump of 133 m and 293.9 points, the 22-year-old was third and could still achieve the first podium of his career in the COC.

The fourth place went to Thomas Lackner of Austria, with Slovenia's Domen Prevc and Richard Freitag of Germany, two big names finished fifth and sixth today. Alongside Lisso and Freitag, Philipp Raimund provided for a very good team result of Germany with his seventh place.

Joacim Oedegaard Bjoereng of Norway, second in Saturday's competition, came in eight, followed by Francisco Moerth of Austria and Slovenia's Zak Mogel.

After his two wins this weekend, Ulrich Wohlgenannt now leads the Continental Cup overall ranking with 560 points, his teammate Thomas Lackner is second with 369 points, Joacim Oedegaard Bjoereng third with 367 points.

The Continental Cup continues next weekend with two competitions in Innsbruck (AUT).
