COC-M: Norwegians sweep the podium in Ruka

The Norwegian team dominated the first of two competitions of the Continental Cup in Ruka (FIN) on Saturday afternoon and took all three spots on the podium on the famous Rukatunturi-hill.

Robin Pedersen, who was fifth after the first half of the competition with 133 m, posted the best jump in the final round on the HS 142 m hill with 138.5 m and could claim his fourth win in the COC with his total of 284.0 points.

After the first round, Joacim Oedegaard Bjoereng was in the leading position, in the end, he finished second overall with jumps of 140.5 m and 134 m and 282.4 points. The total success of the Norwegians today was completed by Sondre Ringen in third with 275.3 points (141.5 m and 131.5 m).

Severin Freund of Germany was fourth and presented himself in very good shape again after he was on the podium twice last weekend. Freund was followed by the best jumpers of Austria and Slovenia in this competition, Thomas Lackner (5th) and Anze Semenic (6th).

Besides Freund, Moritz Baer and Philipp Raimund could also achieve good results for Germany in seventh and ninth. The eighth place went to Norway's Anders Haare, Austrian Maximilian Steiner completed the Top 10.

Ulrich Wohlgenannt of Austrian remains in the lead of the overall ranking of the COC with 360 points, Joacim Oedegaard Bjoereng and Severin Freund are now tied for second with 210 points each.

The second competition of the weekend in Ruka starts on Sunday at 11:30 am CET.
