COC-M: Timon-Pascal Kahofer takes the win in Klingenthal

Austria's Timon-Pascal Kahofer was the best in the first of two Continental Cup competitions in Klingenthal (GER) on Saturday afternoon.

The 22-year-old Tyrolean claimed his first win in the Continental Cup with jumps of 138.5 m and 125 m and 235.7 points. Before this weekend, two third places in Wisla and Oslo were his best results in the COC. "It was a very good competition. I want to thank Jesus Christ for the opportunity to be here. It was a great victory and I'm very glad that it happened. Tomorrow I want to stay focused on what I have to do on the hill and then we'll see", sad the winner.

Lovro Kos of Slovenia was fifth after his first jump of 130 m, the 22-year-old then had the best jump in the final round with 133.5 m and so he could finish second overall today with a total of 226.6 points.
Austria's Manuel Fettner once again presented himself in a consistently strong shape and came in third in this competition with 133.5 m and 130 m and 225.5 points.

The fourth place went to Norway's Joacim Oedegaard Bjoereng, followed by Poland's Stefan Hula and his teammate Bendik Jacobsen Heggli in fifth and sixth. The best jumper of the hosting team of Germany was David Siegel in seventh, after the first round he was en route to the podium in third.

Roman Trofimov was eighth and achieved a good result for the Russians, behind him, Martin Hamann of Germany (9th) and Austria's David Haagen (10th) completed the Top 10 in the Vogtland-Arena.
The German veteran Richard Freitag had the longest jump of the day with 142.5 m in the first round, but in the final, he landed already at 116.5 m and so he fell back from second to 14th overall.

With his second place today, Manuel Fettner now took the lead in the overall ranking of the COC. With 550 points he is now ahead of his teammate Mika Schwann (517 points) and Fredrik Villumstad of Norway (390 points).

The final competition of the summer season starts on Sunday at 10 am CET.
