The favorites from Germany took all three spots on the podium in the first women's competition of the Continental Cup on the Midtstubakken in Oslo (NOR) on Saturday.

In the first event on the HS 106 normal hill, Katharina Althaus was in a league of her own. The 25-year-old dominated both rounds with her jumps of 107.5 m and 105.5 m and took a more than clear win with a total of 259.5 points ahead of her teammates Pauline Hessler (97.5 m and 90 m; 205.7 points) and Juliane Seyfarth (94.5 m and 92 m; 2014.1 points).

"It's a great result for me and for our team, it's great to stand on the podium together with my teammates. I was able to show my best jumps in the competitions and I'm happy about that, I think I have never won with such a big lead before", said Katharina Althaus, who took all her three COC wins on the same hill.

The places four and five went to Jenny Rautionaho of Finland and Sweden's Frida Westmann, who could both achieve the best results of their career today. The best of the Austrian jumpers was Hannah Wiegele in sixth.
Behind Anna Shpyneva of Russia in seventh, Anna Rupprecht and Selina Freitag completed the strong team result of the German jumpers today in eighth and ninth.

In the overall ranking of the COC, Austria's Julia Muehlbacher leads with 219 points, followed by Bing Dong of China (207 points) and Slovenia's Jerneja Brecl (200 points).
The second women's competition in Oslo starts on Sunday at 9:45 am CET.
