COC-W: Next win for Jerneja Brecl

The trip to Romania for the Continental Cup in Rasnov was definitely worth it for Jerneja Brecl. After she claimed the win there on Saturday, the Slovene was also the best in the second competition of the weekend on Sunday.

The 20-year-old showed yet another very strong performance and proved to be unbeatable once again with her jumps of 92.5 m and 95 m and 212.1 points. Jerneja Brecl could celebrate her second and third Continental Cup win on the two days in Rasnov. "It was nice to be here in Rasnov this weekend, now I'm looking forward to the Grand Prix in Chaikovsky", said Brecl.

The ski jumpers of China also presented themselves in great shape again. Dong Bing, third in the first competition on Saturday, jumped on 82 m and 91.5 m on Sunday and came in second with her total of 193.4 points.
Her teammates Liangyao Wang, Qingyue Peng, and Xueyao Li finished fourth, fifth, and seventh and made it a very successful day for China.

The third place today went to Joanna Szwab of Poland with 88.5 m and 86.5 m and 191.9 points. This performance earned the 24-year-old her second podium finish in the Continental Cup, the first time she achieved that was already in March 2014, when she was second in Falun.

Jerneja Repinc Zupancic of Slovenia confirmed her very good fourth place from Saturday with the sixth place today, Josphin Laue was the best of the German team again, this time in eighth. The ninth place went to local hero Daniela Haralambie.

Austria's Julia Muehlbacher was tenth today and could not defend the overall lead in the COC. With 204 points she is now second narrowly behind Bing Dong of China (207 points). After her two wins in Rasnov, Jerneja Brecl is now third with 200 points.
The last two women's Continental Cup competitions of this summer season will take place on September 18th and 19th in Oslo (NOR).
