Daniela Iraschko-Stolz has to end the season early

Austria's Daniela Iraschko-Stolz has to end the season early due to continuing knee pain. The 38-year-old could not train for weeks before the Olympic Games in Beijing, her last appearance in the World Cup was on New Year's Day in Ljubno (SLO). Shortly after that, Daniela Iraschko-Stolz wasn't able to jump anymore.

Shortly before the Olympics in China, it was decided that Iraschko-Stolz will be competing in the women's individual and the mixed team event in Beijing. Despite the knee problems, she finished 12th in the individual competition. Together with Lisa Eder, Stefan Kraft, Manuel Fettner she came in fifth in the mixed team event.

Iraschko-Stolz will use the next couple of weeks to recover and then start training again, resp. make a decision regarding her future as an athlete, in due time.
