After being away from the podiums last season, Katharina Althaus (GER) won tonight with jumps of 96 and 95.5 m, scoring 278.1 points. As she explained, she was able to show her best jumps and was extremely happy and thankful to the whole team. “Lillehammer is always special for me", explained the smiling women from Oberstdorf who won already here in 2018 on the HS140 large hill.

Austrian Marita Kramer kept the yellow bib as she finished second, performing during competition better than the trial round where she was sixth. Best jumper in the trial round, Ursa Bogataj, (SLO) followed no even 1 point behind. There was a very nice atmosphere tonight with no wind, white landscape and good competition.

Posting the longest jump with 97m, local favorite Silje Opseth claimed the fourth position whereas Nika Kriznar was the second-best Slovenian tonight (fifth) ahead of Ema Klinec (nineth)

Japanese Sara Takanashi returned in the top 10 in sixth position.

Austria is second in the Nations Cup, now just 10 points behind Slovenia, with 595 points. Teammates Daniela Iraschko-Stolz, (seventh), Eva Pinkelning (eighth) and Lisa Eder (10th) scored indeed quite a few points tonight!

Starting her first season in world cup, Frida Westman (SWE) finished with a good 13th position. "Moving to Norway gives me a better environment and better conditions to improve", explained the 20-year-old.

Out of the 65 women taking part in the World Cup on the HS98 this weekend, 63 will be competing tomorrow on the first HS140 Large Hill event in the season. Qualifications starts at 16h tomorrow, competition at 17h30.
