Kramer still the strongest during qualification

This weekend, the world’s top athletes of the supreme Nordic sports discipline are competing in Austria, at Ramsau am Dachstein. FIS Women's ski jumping event started with qualification on Thursday evening on the HS 98, whereas men's and women's Nordic Combined will have competitions later this weekend.

Scoring already back-to-back wins last weekend in Klingenthal (GER), Austrian Marita Kramer showed tonight the longest jump with 94 m in qualification and claimed the leader board with 141,8 points.

Japanese Sara Takanashi followed with 133,9 points ahead of best Slovenian Ursa Bogataj, following also with a gap of nearly 8 points (126,3 points)

Bogataj teamsmate Nika Kriznar finished fourth and Ema Klinec sixth. Katharina Altaus, (GER) was still the best German in fifth.

Austrian teammates were still not so far from Kramer. Eva Pinkelnig did the second longest jump with 92 m and took the seventh place, ahead of Daniela Iraschko-Stolz.

Celebrating both her first top 10 this winter, Lara Malsiner, from Italy, reached the nineth position and German Anna Rupprecht tenth.

Tomorrow, the Women's World Cup in Ramsau will be the first event of a new special Tournament in women's Ski Jumping called the Austrian "Alpenkrone" (Crown of the Alps). This "Alpenkrone" is an initiative of the Austrian Ski Association to promote the development of Women's Ski Jumping. See details on the FIS website.
