Norway's Marius Lindvik won the exciting Ski Jumping World Cup in Zakopane (POL) on Sunday evening ahead of Karl Geiger (GER) and Slovenia's Anze Lanisek. World Cup leader Ryoyu Kobayashi finished fourth after being the halftime leader.

Lindvik claimed his 5th World Cup win with a clear lead of 10 points over Karl Geiger. "My jumping was pretty good today, especially the second round was really good, so I’m very happy. The whole weekend has been pretty good, it’s nice to have fans at the hill cheering for us. My goal is to keep jumping well and hopefully, I can win a medal at the Olympics", Lindvik stated.

Karl Geiger once again proved his great shape this winter with the second place today. He said after the competition: "I’m really happy with my performance today, like yesterday it was important for me and also for the team. We kept on fighting and made good jumps. For me, it was a really good competition and I’m really happy. The atmosphere was great, during this season we didn't have supporters at the hill, so I really enjoyed it. Now I’d like to keep on working and jumping like this. I’ll try to keep my shape on a high level for the Olympic Games in China." It was already the seventh podium finish for Geiger this winter. In the overall World Cup, he is second, 44 points behind Ryoyu Kobayashi.

The third place today went to Slovenia's Anze Lanisek, who was also a member of the winning Slovenian team yesterday. "My jumps weren’t the best yet, but I’m slowly getting there. The weekend in Zakopane was amazing, the fans were unbelievable, it feels like a second home to me", said Lanisek.

Overall World Cup leader Ryoyu Kobayashi was fourth, followed by the strong Austrian youngster Daniel Tschofenig. Daniel Huber was sixth, Killian Peier seventh and Jan Hoerl was the third Austrian in the Top 8 today. Markus Eisenbichler finished tenth.

The World Cup continues next weekend with two competitions in Titisee-Neustadt (GER). Originally the World Cup in Sapporo (JPN) was planned for next week, but it had to be canceled due to the strict travel regulations in Japan.
