Slovenia's Nika Kriznar won the qualification for the final women's Grand Prix of the summer on Friday. On the HS 140 hill in Klingenthal, last season's overall World Cup champion finished ahead of Austria's Marita Kramer and Ursa Bogataj of Slovenia, who has already claimed the Grand Prix overall title.

Kriznar posted the longest jump of the qualification, in which 61 athletes were participating, with 128.5 m. With 121.4 points she had a lead of 2.9 points over Marita Kramer, who jumped on 124 m, Ursa Bogataj was third.

Sara Takanashi came in fourth, followed by her Japanese teammate Yuka Seto, Silje Opseth tied for sixth with Slovenia's Jerneja Brecl. The eighth place went to the best German athlete, Katharina Althaus. Irina Avvakumova (RUS) and Spela Rogelj (SLO) completed the Top 10 today.

Selina Freitag and Pauline Hessler showed convincing performances in 15th and 25th, Juliane Seyfarth and Pia Kuebler (35th and 37th) could also qualify, but five German jumpers couldn't make the cut: Anna Rupprecht, Josephin Laue, Luisa Goerlich, Lia Boehme, and Michelle Goebel could not qualify for the competition on Saturday at 11 am CET, a disappointing result for the German team.

Three Canadian jumpers (Alexandra Loutitt / 18th, Abigail Strate / 26th, and Natalie Eilers / 39th) made the cut for the competition, a strong team result for Canada. Qingyue Peng and Bing Dong will represent China on Saturday.
