On Friday night, on the mythical Olympic stadium, the FIS Women Ski Jumping World Cup was back in Lillehammer (NOR). 65 ladies out of 17 nations were competing with snow flakes falling.  Disappointed with her fourth position last week in Russia, Marita Kramer (AUT) showed tonight she was in better shape and claimed the leader board with 125.4 points during qualification.

Equalising the longest jump with 96m as Kramer, Slovenian Ursa Bogataj came second, ahead of Norvegian local hero Silje Opseth, happy to show good jumps at home.

Katharina Altaus, (GER) who was the podium last week in Nizhny Tagil (RUS), confirmed her good shape and finished fourth. Austrian teammates were not so far from Kramer with Austrian Daniela Iraschko-Stolz, oldest jumper yet still performing very well in fifth position, followed by Eva Pinkelnig.

Celebrating her first World Cup victory last week and current hill record holder with 104,5 m, Slovenian Ema Klinec got confused at the start with her skis and finished seventh. Both teammates Nika were following : Kriznar, ninth and Prevc, tenth.

A really good surprise was for Frida Westman, Sweden, starting this year her world cup carreer and taking already the eighth position today. On the opposite, Japanese Sara Takanashi finished 13th surprisingly.

Early in the qualification, bib number 4 and 8, Klara Ulrichova (CZE) and Alessia Mitu Cosca (ROU) crashed into the landing area. Fortunately, both of them did not suffer any serious injuries and the competition continued smoothly for all the others.

The competition on NH continues on Saturday at 18.15 CET . The first event on LH starts on Sunday, 17h30.
