Simon Ammann suffered a setback in the preparation for the upcoming Olympic season. The Swiss ski jumper will be sidelined for a couple of weeks due to a ligament rupture in his ankle.

The 40-year-old four-time Olympic champion, who presented himself in great shape with the third place in the FIS Grand Prix in Courchevel two weeks ago, sustained the injury during a training session of the Swiss national team in a wind tunnel in Stockholm on Wednesday.
The ligament rupture in his right foot was diagnosed after a medical examination in Zurich later this week.

The injury will be treated conservatively, surgery is not necessary, but Simon Ammann will now not be able to jump for a couple of weeks.
