Slovenians celebrating at the Ljubno Silvester Tour
Dec 31, 2021·Ski JumpingFor the first time in the Women's Ski Jumping, the Knock-Out competition brought the competitors a new kind of excitement.
Slovenia's Nika Kriznar won the competition with 91,5 m and 94,5m jumps, a total of 263,7 points, taking the lead in a two-part Ljubno Silvester Tour. Marita Kramer, Austria, came second, with 259,9 points and Ema Klinec, Slovenia, took a spot on the podium, with 257,2 points.
The first podium and the victory of the season were emotional for the local hero with whom the whole Slovenian team celebrates their success. Nika Krisnar, SLO: "It's amazing. I'm so happy and satisfied. I just don't know what in the world I'm doing, but I hope I to do the same jumps tomorrow and enjoy."
Marita Kramer, AUT: "All in all, it was a good day. My first jump was really good for Ljubno. It's staff hill for me because of the inrun. The second one was not that good, but I'm really satisfied with the second place, and I hope that I can do two good jumps tomorrow, so I'm looking forward to the New Year."
Ema Klinec, SLO: "Today's competition was really stressful. It's a home competition, and we are working hard to do our best here. To share a podium with Nika is just amazing."
Fourth of exciting competition jumped Ursa Bogataj, Slovenia, ahead of Katarina Althaus (GER) and Sara Takanashi (JPN), who shared 5th place.
Three following places in top ten went for the Austrians. Daniela Iraschko-Stolz was seventh followed by Lisa Eder and Eva Pinkelnig. Norwegian Thea Minyan Bjoerseth finished tenth.
Ljubno Silvester Tour will continue tomorrow on New Year's Day. The points of the two competitions will be counted together to crown the overall winner of the Ljubno Silvester Tour.
