Successful premiere: Women's summer season kicks off in Wisla

The world's best female ski jumpers started their 2021 summer season with the training and qualification in Wisla (POL). For the first time ever, the women were competing on the HS 134 Adam-Malysz-hill.

In summer-like temperatures and demanding wind conditions, 40 of the 53 athletes qualified for the competition on Saturday (1 pm CET).

The best in the qualification was Slovenia's Ursa Bogataj. The 26-year-old posted a jump of 123 m (108.5 points) and came in ahead of Sara Takanashi of Japan (117.5 m; 104.9 points) and Austria's Marita Kramer (121.5 m; 103.3 points).
The best German was Katharina Althaus in fourth, overall World Cup champion Nika Kriznar of Slovenia was fifth.

The second women's qualification will take place on Sunday at 11:45 am CET, followed by the second competition at 1 pm CET.

The men's training and qualification on the Adam-Malysz hill will follow later today.
