Dawid Kubacki

Dawid Kubacki won the second competition of the Grand Prix in Wisla on Sunday. Austria's Jan Hoerl and Slovenia's Anze Lanisek came in second and third. The best of the German team was Markus Eisenbichler in seventh.

Local hero and summer jumping specialist Dawid Kubacki of Poland took the home win on the second day of competition in Wisla. After Jakub Wolny on Saturday, this was already the second home win in front of the enthusiastic fans at the Adam-Malysz-hill in Wisla.

"Today's competition went exactly the way I wanted to. I had two good jumps and the conditions were okay as well, it went very well for me today", said Kubacki, who now leads the Grand Prix ranking with 160 points after two competitions.

But Kubacki has to share the place on top with Austria's Jan Hoerl, who came in second again this evening. Hoerl showed convincing performances over the entire weekend and was the best of a strong Austrian team, for which Markus Schiffner (6th) and Manuel Fettner (10th) could also achieve Top 10 results.

Strong German team
For the German team, the weekend in Wisla was successful as well. Markus Eisenbichler, Constantin Schmid, and Severin Freund came in seventh, eighth, and ninth. Andreas Wellinger was 21st, Karl Geiger 23rd, and another good news for the team was the 25th place of Stephan Leyhe, who could score the Grand Prix points he had hoped for.

Antti Aalto good again
The Finn was already 14th yesterday and today he confirmed this result with the 19th place. His teammate Eetu Nousiainen was first and second in the Continental Cups at home in Kuopio yesterday, these are small but important steps for the Finnish team on the way back to the top.

Equipment controller Mika Jukkara was again very busy today, he had to disqualify four athletes because their suits didn't meet the rules.

The men's Grand Prix continues on August 7th in Courchevel (FRA).
