Vasja Bajc is the new head coach of the Czech men's Ski Jumping national team. The 59-year-old Slovene was already coaching the Czech ski jumping from 2004 - 2006.

"I'm happy, honored, and proud that I get the chance to be the head coach of the Czech Ski Jumping team again after 15 years. The goal is to achieve better results than in recent years. Ski Jumping has a great tradition in the Czech Republic and I know that it will not be an easy task, this is a big challenge for me", said Vasja Bajc.

Jakub Janda, who won the overall World Cup 2005/06 with Bajc as head coach and is now working with the national ski association, is happy about the return of the experienced coach. "After a bad season, we have decided to hire a foreign coach. Vasja Bajc knows the environment of Ski Jumping in the Czech Republic and with him, as head coach, we could celebrate some of our biggest successes", Janda explains the decision.

Last winter was extremely disappointing for the Czech ski jumpers. In absence of Roman Koudelka, who missed almost the entire season due to an injury, Viktor Polasek was the best Czech in the 2020/21 overall World Cup in 69th.
