Norway's Halvor Egner Granerud also won the last competition of the weekend in Willingen. Granerud once again proved his current over-form and won with more than 20 points ahead of Japan's Ryoyu Kobayashi and his team mate Daniel Andre Tande.

The 17,000 spectators at the Mühlenkopf ski jump experienced another chapter in Halvor Egner Granerud's flying show in 2023 in continuous rain.
For Granerud, today's success was his 22nd World Cup victory overall. Granerud is unbeatable in this form, even if he himself sees it differently: "I am definitely not invincible, in the second run today I was only second. The more jumps we have, the better for me, because my jumps are on a high level, I am in good shape at the moment. I am very happy about that. I also like the hill very much, it's one of my favourite hills - especially since I've won most of my victories here. Nevertheless, I have to work on my technique all the time, because the feeling is different with every jump."

"I have the impression that Willingen is a bit underestimated - the atmosphere is very good, a lot of fans come here. My parents were also here this weekend, they had a great time - also in the beer tent. I'm looking forward to the next stop in the USA. The American ski jumpers have already reported that it's a beautiful place. Hopefully we can show good jumps there. Also, I hope it will be very American, with a party at the hill and great spectators. Thanks for the weekend in Willingen," said Granerud, who won all three competitions he took part in this weekend.

Ryoyu Kobayashi came in second. The Japanese had been in 7th place after round 1, but then worked his magic in the final round and improved to second place,
"It was a great weekend in Willingen with so many spectators. My jumps were good on all days. I am happy that I still managed such a jump at the end. My goal is always to show my best jumps. I am looking forward to the World Cup in the USA because it is the first competition there for me," said Kobayashi.

For Norway's Daniel Andre Tande, third place was his first podium since his surprise win in Oslo in March 2022. "I am very happy with my performance today. Both qualifications this weekend were very good, today I managed to show the performance also in the competition, I am very happy about the podium. I hope I can continue to show this performance in the competition rounds, although I think the jump in the second round could have been a bit better - I was a bit late at the take off. Having Halvor Egner, who has an incredible performance, on our team makes it a little easier for us. If you don't have such a jumper who is in front, it is more difficult to show good performances. Now I am really looking forward to the USA. Lake Placid looks very good. It's great that I can be a part of the first USA World Cup after twenty years. I hope we can show a similar performance there as today," Tande was happy about his success.

Manuel Fettner finished fourth in the day's ranking ahead of the two Slovenians Ziga Jelar and Domen Prevc. Piotr Zyla, Michael Hayböck, Markus Eisenbichler and Timi Zajc followed in places 7 - 10.
Simon Ammann secured World Cup points in 28th place, as did the US American Andrew Urlaub in 26th place.

For most of the teams, the journey to the next World Cup venue Lake Placid starts tomorrow morning directly from Willingen. Three World Cups (2 x individual and 1 super team) will take place in the USA next weekend.
