Poland's Dawid Kubacki took a clear win in the qualification for the FIS Grand Prix 2022 in Hinzenbach (AUT). On the HS 90 m hill, Kubacki won ahead of Austria's Daniel Tschofenig and Anze Lanisek of Slovenia.

Kubacki jumped on 92 m and his score of 137.2 points, he had a clear lead of eight points over second-placed Tschofenig, who has already shown great performances in Rasnov (ROU) last weekend, where he could win twice (Super Team and Mixed Team).

Anze Lanisek was the best Slovene in third, Andreas Wellinger came in fourth with a brand-new ski brand (Van Deer). Behind Wellinger, local hero  Jan Hoerl was fifth.

Wasek strong again
After his second place in Rasnov last weekend, Poland's Pawel Wasek could show yet another convincing performance in the qualification in Hinzenbach. The Polish up-and-comer was sixth, followed by Constantin Schmid of Germany in seventh.

5 Poles in the Top 10
Besides Kubacki and Wasek, Kacper Juroszek, Kamil Stoch, and Piotr Zyla (8th, 9th, 10th) three more Polish athletes finished in the Top 10 today, Karl Geiger was eleventh.

Ryoyu Kobayashi disqualified
For last winter's overall World Cup champion Ryoyu Kobayashi of Japan, the Grand Prix in Hinzenbach didn't go as well as he would have wished. After two strong training jumps, he was also leading in the qualification when the Grand Prix weekend was over for him before it really started. Kobayashi was disqualified by the jury because his suit was not compliant with the rules.

The competition in Hinzenbach starts on Sunday at 1 pm CET.
