After his success on Saturday, Norwegian Halvor Egner Granerud also won the second Ski Flying World Cup in Bad Mitterndorf on Sunday (AUT). Granerud prevailed on Sunday in ideal conditions and bright sunshine ahead of Slovenia's Timi Zajc and Austria's Stefan Kraft.

Granerud flew to 234 and 235 meters in his success on Sunday (455.5 points), second-placed Timi Zajc collected 4.1 points less (451.4) than Granerud, Kraft had 5 points less on his account than Zajc (446.4).

Granerud now not only leads the overall World Cup with 112 points ahead of Dawid Kubacki (1316 - 1204), but also the Ski Flying World Cup with 200 points out of a possible 200.

"This weekend was outstanding for me. The fight for the yellow bib is definitely not decided yet, I expect Dawid Kubacki to find his best jumps again and then we will continue to fight for the yellow bib," Granerud said.
"Now I am looking forward to the weekend in Willingen, I have talked with Stephan Leyhe and everything is ready. Willingen is one of my favorite hills and I hope that I can jump there as well as here at Kulm."

For Granerud it was the 20th World Cup victory overall, the second in ski flying.

Stefan Kraft celebrated his 89th World Cup podium overall with his third place, which means Kraft is now the sole record holder in Austria ahead of Gregor Schlierenzauer, who had collected 88 podiums in his career.

"It was a dream weekend, such cool flights, almost always on the 230 meters, that was really fun," Kraft was pleased in the ORF-TV interview.

Andreas Wellinger from Germany is getting closer and closer to his best form. With fourth place the currently best DSV eagle scratched the podium. Wellinger could already succeed in jumping back onto the podium next weekend in Willingen.
"I am pretty satisfied, I was able to call up my jumps well, the other three were simply better today. The way is right and I continue in this direction." Willingen can come, I'm really looking forward to the weekend there. Wellinger last stood on the podium in 2018 in Ruka (FIN).

Jan Hörl, Piotr Zyla and Manuel Fettner finished in 5th-7th place.

Ukrainian Yevhen Marusiak was also happy about a special success. The 22-year-old flew to 210 and 200 meters and secured his first World Cup points with 26th place.

The Ski Jumping World Cup continues next weekend in Willingen (GER) with competitions of women and men.
