Katharina Althaus wins the first competition in Lillehammer

Katharina Althaus won today’s competition in Lillehammer. Ski jumper from Oberstdorf wins ahead of the two Austrians Eva Pinkelnig and Sara Marita Kramer.

Katharina Althaus won with two great jumps of 99 and 96, 5 meters and 260.1 points. Austrians took next two places. Eva Pinkelnig (95 and 97 m; 250.2 pts) and Sara Marita Kramer (93 and 97 m; 242.3 pts), who was able to make up three positions in the final.

German ski jumper after the competition said: "I feel great and I'm so happy! I would like to thank my whole team and I love Lillehammer,”. It was her 9th win in the World Cup. Also her teammate Selina Freitag achieved today her best career result in the World Cup cycle – 6th place.

Eva Pinkelnig keeps the lead in the World Cup overall. “I had today really good jumps. I have implemented my ideas and with the other parts I am able to achieve the good level and long jumps – said 34-years old Austrian from Vorarlberg.

Kvandal the best in the Norwegian team
Eirin Maria Kvandal finished today on the 10th place and it was the best result in the Norwegian team.
Thea Minyan Bjoerseth and Anna Odine Stroem, who finished 12th and 14th. Maren Lundby was (19th) and Silje Opseth (20th).

Abigail Strate also achieved her best career result today. Canadian finished today on the 4th place. Nika Prevc missed a possible of second place with a weaker second jump and 7th place was the final result for her. The best Japanese girl – Nozomi Maruyama finished the competition on the 14th place.

In the overall World Cup, Eva Pinkelnig was able to defend her yellow BIB by finishing second today. She leads the classification with 240 points, Katharina Althaus is second with 190 points. Marita Kramer remains third and now has 180 points.
