Austria's Marita Kramer has won the first prologue of the summer for women ski jumpers. Last winter's overall World Cup winner prevailed on the HS 134 hill in Wisla (POL) ahead of Ursa Bogataj from Slovenia and Josephine Pagnier from France.

Four months after the end of the 2021/2022 World Cup season, the (summer) season has started again for the women ski jumpers. In Wisla, Poland, the qualification (due to 32 starters prologue) for the first competition of the Grand Prix 2022 was on the program on the HS 134 hill.

In bright sunshine and 28°C, Marita Kramer (AUT), the winner of last winter's overall World Cup, prevailed.
"I first had to find the right feeling for the hill, in the beginning, it was a bit strange. I was a bit unsure about my technique in the inrun. But then my jump in the prologue was great. I wouldn't say that this is my favorite hill. It's beautiful, but if you can't jump well, it's really hard to find a good technique because it's not comparable to the other hills. I like Poland, there are real ski jumping fans here and the atmosphere is great. My goal for tomorrow is to be in the TOP 3 and I just want to jump well and improve my technique," explained Kramer after her success.

Kramer jumped on 130.5 meters (131.5 points) and secured herself a lead of 3.9 points over Slovenian Ursa Bogataj (126.5 meters / 127.6 points) who had won the Grand Prix overall ranking last year.
Third place went to the French Josephine Pagnier (119 meters / 121.4 points) who can be considered very strong this summer, alongside the known favorites.
Nika Kriznar (SLO) finished fourth ahead of the best German, Selina Freitag. Katharina Althaus finished 7th ahead of the surprisingly strong Romanian Daniela Haralambie. Pauline Hessler completed a strong team result of the German women in 9th place.

Czech Karolina Indrackova did not start due to back problems after she fell the day before, but not in ski jumping but in inline skating.

The first of two competitions of the women in Wisla starts on Saturday at 10:30, and the second will follow on Sunday at 17:30.
