Second competition in Sapporo for Silje Opseth

Silje Opseth won the second competition in Sapporo with the top distance of 135.5 and 121 meters and 232.1 points. Like the day before, the second place went to the strong Slovenian Ema Klinec with 128 and 122 meters and 227.3 points. Third place went to Eva Pinkelnig (129 and 121 m; 225.7 points), who was also able to extend her lead in the overall World Cup.

Yesterday's winner Katharina Althaus was the best German in fourth place, while Selina Freitag was able to confirm her strong form in seventh place.

It was also another successful day for the Canadian team: Alexandria Loutitt jumped a new Canadian national record with 135.5 meters on her way to eighth place in the second round and, despite difficulties on landing. Team colleague Abigail Strate was 15th, while Nicole Maurer was 25th.

The top ten was completed by two Japanese women, Yuka Seto and Sara Takanashi in ninth and tenth place. Like the day before, Chiara Kreuzer fought her way up a few places and finished 11th, while Jacqueline Seifriedsberger was 21st and Hannah Wiegele was 24th. German jumpers - Luisa Görlich and Anna Rupprecht were 16th and 18th third and fourth best Germans. Norway's Eirin Maria Kvandal also put in a good performance, coming twelfth despite two shortened inruns by her trainer Christian Meyer after she had to give up yesterday's competition for a short time due to a knee pain.

German Pauline Hessler, the American Samantha Macuga and also Yuka Kobayashi were disqualified in the qualification because the suits were too big. The same happened to Sara Marita Kramer after the first round. Macuga's teammate Josie Johnson caught it even before her competition jump, failing to pass pre-start control. The Chinese Ping Zeng got her best career result in 31st, although she just missed out on the points.
