Anze Lanisek from Slovenia won the New Year's ski jumping competition in Garmisch-Partenkirchen on Monday ahead of Ryoyu Kobayashi from Japan and Andreas Wellinger from Germany.
Andreas Wellinger continues to lead the overall standings of the 72nd Four Hills Tournament, 1.8 points ahead of second-placed Ryoyu Kobayashi, with Austria's Stefan Kraft in third place.

"I'm over the moon that I was able to jump at the level I wanted to today. It worked well in the qualification yesterday, and the final jump today was really very good," said Lanisek after the competition. Lanisek had already won second place in the New Year's competition last year.
With his victory on the day, Lanisek made up 12 places in the overall tour rankings. After 18th place in the opening competition in Oberstdorf, the 27-year-old is now in 6th place.
Andreas Wellinger continues to lead the overall standings of the 72nd Four Hills Tournament.
Stefan Kraft (6th place today) is in third place in the overall tour rankings, 23.4 points behind Wellinger after two of four competitions.

"That was a great start to the new year, it can go on like this. I'm extremely happy with what I was able to deliver here in Partenkirchen, I hope I can do as good jumps in Innsbruck as I did here today. And I hope that the best ski jumper wins on the Bergisel and not the one who has the most luck.

"Andi jumped very well today, and he also landed well today, which was the problem on the qualifying day yesterday. He got to grips with it very well and I'm very happy that he came third today. Everything is as usual for the tour, the first few are incredibly close together, now it's off to Innsbruck and we'll see if we can make good jumps there again," explained national coach Horngacher after the competition.
Andreas Wellinger continues to lead the overall standings of the 72nd Four Hills Tournament. He is followed by Japan's Ryoyu Kobayashi, who finished second today. Stefan Kraft (6th today) is in third place in the overall tour standings, 23.4 points behind Wellinger after 2 of 4 competitions.

The team from Austria put in a convincing team performance: Manuel Fettner, Jan Hoerl, Stefan Kraft, Michael Hayboeck and Clemens Aigner took 4th, 5th, 6th, 8th and 12th place.
The best Norwegian was Marius Lindvik in 7th place.
The Four Hills Tournament continues on Tuesday with the qualification at the Bergisel in Innsbruck, followed by the competition at the same venue on Wednesday.
