Swiss Gregor Deschwanden won the FIS Grand Prix in Hinzenbach (AUT) on Sunday ahead of Bulgarian Vladimir Zografski. In the last individual event of the Grand Prix in Klingenthal (GER) next weekend there will be a big showdown between the two dominators of the summer 2023.

It was a great competition which the numerous spectators got to see in great weather on Sunday afternoon in the Energie Arena of Hinzenbach. And in the end everything revolved around the duel between Gregor Deschwanden and Vladimir Zografski.
With the world's elite gathered, the two best-placed in the Grand Prix overall standings confirmed their top results of the current summer.

After his second place today, Zografski (580 points) still has a lead of 34 points ahead of Gregor Deschwanden (546 points), who was very strong in Hinzenbach. "This is exactly the situation I wished for, that the decision will be made in the last competition of the summer. It doesn't matter to me at the moment whether we jump on small or big hills, if the shape is good you can be in the top on all hills," explained Deschwanden before the final which will take place next Saturday on the HS 140 meter hill of Klingenthal.

"This will definitely be very interesting for the fans and of course for us athletes. Gregor is strong, I will just try to do my stuff in Klingenthal and we will see for whom it will be enough in the end" said Vladimir Zografski, for whom the overall victory in the Grand Prix, just like for Deschwanden, would mean the highlight of his career so far.

The Austrian Daniel Tschofenig finished third in the daily ranking, as he did on Saturday. Andreas Wellinger, who had celebrated the day's victory on Saturday, once again had to be satisfied with fourth place in Hinzenbach. Wellinger, however, underlined his strong shape, as did teammate Stephan Leyhe (today 6th place). Between the two Germans placed the strong Manuel Fettner from Austria.

Dawid Kubacki (7th), Ryoyu Kobayashi (8th), Stefan Kraft (9th) and Turkey's Fatih Arda Ipcioglu completed the top 10 on Sunday in Hinzenbach.

Next weekend in Klingenthal (GER) first the men's and women's final will take place on Saturday (Nika Kriznar from Slovenia will try to achieve her 7th victory in the 7th competition of the 2023 Grand Prix here) before then a Mixed Team competition will finish the Grand Prix 2023 on Sunday.
