Slovenian double success in last Grand Prix competition of women ski jumpers in summer 2023. Slovenian Ema Klinec secured victory in the last Grand Prix of the summer. Klinec prevailed on HS 140 meters hill in Klingenthal (GER) ahead of her teammate Nika Kriznar and Austrian Jacqueline Seifriedsberger.

"That was a pretty tough competition today. In such difficult conditions you have to stay absolutely focused," explained Kriznar who missed the day's victory only by 0.8 points and with it her historic 7th victory in the 7th jumping event of the summer.

"I am very happy with the result today and of course totally happy with the overall victory, and I am also very happy about Ema's victory. The fact that it wasn't enough for the seventh victory in the seventh jumping in the end doesn't matter, that would have just been the icing on the cake.
I was a little bit worried before the competition that it wouldn't go so well because here in Klingenthal in preparation for the winter really all the top athletes are competing," explained a happy Nika Kriznar.

Kriznar clearly won the Grand Prix overall ranking with 680 out of 700 possible points from 7 competitions ahead of Sara Takanashi from Japan and Alexandria Loutitt from Canada, who caused the scare of the day today with a fall during her final jump.
Alexandria Loutitt was in the lead after the first run and crashed heavily in the final, but fortunately she was not injured and was able to celebrate her third place in the overall Grand Prix ranking at the award ceremony.
The 19-year-old Loutitt is a top candidate for an absolute top spot in the upcoming winter season.

Marita Kramer of Austria and Selina Freitag of Germany finished 4th and 5th in the day's standings ahead of three Japanese women: Yuki Ito, Sara Takanashi and Nozomi Maruyama. Behind them Nika Prevc and Katharina Schmid (Althaus) completed the top-10.On Sunday there will be a mixed team competition in Klingenthal as the final competition of the Grand Prix summer.

For the women the winter season will start with the World Cup weekend in Lillehammer (NOR) on December 02 and 03.
