Slovenia wins Super-Team event in Wisla

The ski jumpers from Slovenia won the first super team competition of the season in Wisla (SLO) on Saturday. Anze Lanisek and Lovro Kos came out on top in a high-class competition ahead of the teams from Austria (Manuel Fettner and Jan Hoerl) and Germany (Andreas Wellinger and Stephan Leyhe).
In the second of three rounds, Andreas Wellinger set a new hill record of an incredible 144.5 meters on the reconstructed HS 134 meter Adam Malysz hill in Wisla.

Anze Lanisek: "It was a good competition for us with great jumps in the second round and new hill records. I like this competition format, it's almost like training, so we tried to concentrate and jump as well as we could. It was a really crazy day.
Manuel Fettner: I'm happy, we managed to beat the Germans. We did a good job today. I'm always motivated, but like Anze said - this format is like a training, everything goes very fast, but we had a good time here.
Andreas Wellinger The second round was crazy, my jump was really good and I also had good conditions. We were close to the Austrians and jumped as well as we could, but it wasn't our highest level. But we can continue like this in the Polish tour.

Fourth place went to the two strong Norwegians Halvor Egner Granerud and Johann Andre Forfang, directly behind them was the team from Japan with Four Hills Tournament winner Ryoyu Kobayashi and Ren Nikaido.

The hosts from Poland, who have been struggling this winter, finished sixth, with the two young Americans Erik Belshaw and Tate Frantz right behind them causing a sensation. Frantz already achieved the feat of setting the best distance in the training round yesterday, and he did it again today in the trial round. The future belongs to Frantz and Belshaw, the two yougsters from the small US team are outstanding.

The Finns reached the final in 8th place.

In the overall standings of the Poland Tour, the team from Slovenia is clearly in the lead after three rounds with 1039.1 points ahead of Austria (984.5 points) and Germany (979.2).
On Sunday, an individual competition will take place in Wisla (start is at 16:00), where Stefan Kraft, the leader in the overall World Cup, will also be competing again.
