Japan's Sara Takanashi won the second FIS Grand Prix of the 2024 summer in Courchevel (FRA) on Wednesday. Takanashi clearly came out on top (250.3 points) ahead of Austria's Jacqueline Seifriedsberger (231.7 points) and Josephine Pagnier (230.8) from France.

“I've always loved the hill in Courchevel, but unfortunately I haven't been able to win in recent years, so I'm really happy and I'll always remember this competition today.
The level in women's ski jumping has improved enormously and it's no longer so clear who will win, it's as exciting as in the men's competitions.
Everyone respects each other, but all athletes work hard to improve, I will continue to work hard so that I can present myself well in the competitions, as I did today,” explained Takanashi.
Takanashi's success also put her at the top of the overall Grand Prix rankings. With 180 points, the Japanese athlete leads ahead of Jacqueline Seifriedsberger (140) and Ema Klinec (126) from Slovenia, who won the competition on Tuesday and finished in 10th place today.

Alexandria Loutitt finished fourth, followed by Lisa Eder (AUT) , who delivered another strong performance. China's Qi Liu also impressed in seventh place.

Bad luck of the day: Nika Prevc from Slovenia.
Last winter's overall World Cup winner was in the lead after the first run, but in the last jump of the competition the binding clip came loose and Prevc crashed. Thanks to the so-called safety strap, the fall was minor and Prevc remained uninjured. The 19-year-old finished the competition in 9th place in the daily ranking.
There were no German female ski jumpers at the start.
