The reigning overall World Cup winner Stefan Kraft from Austria has made the perfect start to the FIS Ski Jumping Grand Prix 2024 in Courchevel (FRA).

After his victory the day before, Kraft also managed a convincing victory in the second competition on Wednesday.
Similar to the previous day, Kraft's lead over the best pursuers was over 20 points.

Fredrik Villumstadt, from Norway surprisingly finished in second place, while Valentin Foubert (FRA) confirmed his great form with third place.

“That's a nice snapshot, it makes me very, very happy how this has gone. You can see that we've trained very well, but now it's straight back to the hard training.
I always enjoy being here in Courchvel. I like the hill, the temperatures here are usually always cool, even though it was very hot yesterday and the weather was very turbulent.

With his double victory, Kraft leads the Grand Prix after two competitions with 200 out of 200 possible points.

“It's a completely different kind of tension in a competition like this than in training. You're more excited than in training, in training you do your 4 or 5 jumps and in the competition you have two chances and they have to work,” explained Kraft, who is wearing the Yellow Bib of the Grand Prix leader for the first time in his career.

Fredrik Villumstadt once again demonstrated his special summer qualities in second place.
Last year, the 25-year-old had already managed a fourth place in Szczyrk (POL), today was the first podium for Fredrik Villumstadt.

However, the man of the event in Courchevel alongside double winner Kraft was local hero Valentin Foubert.
After second place yesterday, the Frenchman made it onto the podium for the second time today in third place. Foubert, who celebrates his 22nd birthday in three days', has the potential to return to the top of the World Cup rankings for France after Nicolas Dessum.

Dessum's last World Cup victory for France was in Sapporo (JPN) in 1995.

Foubert is in second place in the overall Grand Prix standings with 140 points, a huge success for Foubert and the French team.
Fourth place went to the Italian Alex Insam, just 0.1 points behind Foubert.

Two more Austrians, Jan Hoerl and Manuel Fettner, finished behind Insam.
Markus Eisenbichler and Karl Geiger from Germany in 15th and 16th place were slightly better than the day before.

The Grand Prix continues for the ski jumpers in Wisla (POL). However, the Grand Prix competitions originally planned for the coming weekend in Wisla had to be postponed to September 14 and 15.
