The French snowboard cross championships took place in Peyragudes on Saturday 1 April, 2018, and wrapped up with wins for Charlotte Bankes and Pierre Vaultier.

Olympic champion Pierre Vaultier closed out his legendary season, in which he not only earned a second consecutive Olympic Gold but also won his career's sixth World Cup title, in style ahead of Leo Le Ble Jaques and Ken Vuagnoux.

In the women's event, Bankes came out victorious edging of Nelly Moenne Loccoz and Chloe Trespeuch to the respective second and third.

However, the women's final was overshadowed by a crash of Manon Petit Lenoir who suffered four fractures (double cervical fracture in C7, as well as T2 and T4) falling head first in the wet spring snow which led to a double scorpion.

The 19 year old is hoping to avoid surgery by wearing a corset for the next couple of months.
