Following another injury suffered during the training for the Val Thorens World Cup race a few days ago, Australian top racer Belle Brockhoff has decided to head back home for recovery.

The 24-year-old, who has been working hard to come back from a knee injury suffered end of last season and which included surgery in March, stated on her instagram account:

“I felt really good during training and fast! Unfortunately the weather came in making it really hard to see the features where I made a mistake and crashed. I don't feel I came back too early, it was just an unlucky situation which I will take ownership of.”

She also told her Olympic Association that she is mostly disappointed of not being able to defend her Montafon win from last year:

“I'm a little bummed I can't do the next few races but I want to be in the sport for a long time so I'm thinking about the bigger picture.”

This means that she will get an MRI this Friday in Austria to find out if it's just a bruised bone or something worse before flying back to Melbourne and “come back even stronger.”
