Moioli and Holland prevail in season's SBX finals

Michela Moioli (ITA) and Nate Holland (USA) have claimed victory in this season's final SBX World Cup event which was staged in Veysonnaz, Switzerland today. Both riders therefore lived up to the expectations after clocking in the fastest time in yesterday's qualifiers on the steep and fast piste L'Ours.
2018 Olympic Champion Moioli closed out the season with her fifth win in twelve races cementing her well-deserved World Cup title win in dominant fashion edging off French duo Chloe Trespeuch and Manon Petit Lenoir to the respective second and third rank in the women's final.
Moioli took over the lead after the first intermediate from Hanna Ihedioha (GER) who had managed to snatch her first big final. Fighting back and fore with Trespeuch ever since, the 23-year-old from Bergamo finally was ahead by a nose.
In the men's event, Holland underlined that he is simply one of the best gliders on the tour taking his career's seventh ahead of teammate Mick Dierdorff and Lucas Eguibar (ESP).
Holland had already triumphed in Veysonnaz six years ago in a similar dramatic final like today. Back then, also three Germans had made it to the final heat of six, and like back in 2012, all three missed out the podium after getting mixed up on the course.
This time, Konstantin Schad caught up with the rest of the finalists after having a late start. Coming at them with quite some over speed, he managed to avoid running into his teammate Martin Noerl but by doing so he took out the other German Paul Berg.
In the end, all three couldn't mix it at the top anymore with Holland crossing the finish line first in a massive drafting game.
Two-time Olympic Champion and reigning World Champion Pierre Vaultier (FRA) finished off his season with a 17th rank after he had already secured his sixth World Cup title prior to the season's finals in Veysonnaz.
