SBX World Cup season comes to an end in Veysonnaz

The final single and team SBX events of the 2017-18 FIS Snowboard World Cup season will take place in Veysonnaz, Switzerland from 16 to 18 March, 2018.

It's the second time in a row that riders will crown the best racers of the tour in the sunny mountain resort which is part of the famous “4 Valley” ski domain.

While the race for the title is already decided in favour of Olympic Champions Michela Moioli (ITA) and Pierre Vaultier (FRA) the season's twelfth snowboard cross event staged on the steep and fast 950 metres long course built on Piste de l'Ours will still feature some exciting battles for second and third in the World Cup rankings.

In the women event, the fight for the World Cup standing's podium spots will be between French trio Chloe Trespeuch (6,390) and Nelly Moenne Loccoz (6,340) who are already secure to take home the first ever Team SBX World Cup title as well as last year's Veysonnaz winner Charlotte Bankes (6,000).

The men's event will feature a duel between Alessandro Haemmerle (AUT, 5,840) who is looking to extend his winning streak to three having descended on Switzerland with wins in La Molina (EPS) and Moscow (RUS) under his belt and two-time World Champion Alex Pullin (AUS; 5,016).

The fourth team event will bring the decision for the men's title on Sunday with Emanuel Perathoner and Omar Visintin of ITA 1 leading the ranking with 2,450 points. The South Tyrolean duo only has to keep an eye on ESP 1 which consists of 2017 World Championships Silver medallist Lucas Eguibar and Regino Hernandez.

The qualifiers for the season's ultimate SBX race is scheduled for Friday, 16 March, at 11:00 CET with the finals slated for Saturday, 17 March, at 11:30 CET.

The final Team SXB will take place on Sunday, 18 March, at 11:30 CET.
