Anna Gasser nominated for ESPY Awards
Aug 31, 2018·Snowboard Park & PipeFollowing her outstanding 2016-17 season, the 25-year-old from Millstatt has been nominated for the prestigious ESPY Awards as “Best Female Action Sports Athlete”.
Last winter, Gasser not only won the big air world championships title becoming the first women to ever land a backside 1080 double cork in competition but also took home the big air World Cup title as well as the freestyle snowboard overall World Cup title.
In addition, she grabbed a complete set of X Games medals whilst also triumphing in the slopestyle event of the US Open.
Besides the Austrian snowboarder, also US skateboarder Lacey Baker, freeskier Kelly Sildaru (EST) and surfer Tyler Wright from Australia received nominees for the fan voting which can be attended here.
“I'm very happy that I got nominated for the award which is of a worldwide importance. It's a recognition of my last season's achievements and also a huge motivation boost for the up-coming Olympic winter season,” said Gasser, who will be at site in the Microsoft Theatre in Los Angeles when two-time Super Bowl champion Peyton Manning (USA) will host the much-anticipated show.
