Bad visibility forces programme changes in Seiser Alm

Seiser Alm (ITA) - Silje Norendal (NOR) stormed through tough conditions to lead the way in the ladies' semi-finals held in the Italy's best snowpark in Seiser Alm, while men's qualifications has been pushed to Friday afternoon.
It was a waiting game on Thursday in the heart of Italian Dolomites with dense clouds causing visibility problems and thus forcing postponements in the competition program.
Following a couple of minor breaks the organizers were still able to run the ladies' semi-finals with the Norwegian star Silje Norendal taking the top spot ahead of second Brook Voigt of Canada and third Cheryl Mass representing the Netherlands.
Despite difficult conditions Norendal manged to land her run with a stylish rail game and a nice combination of cab 540 to back-to-back 720 on the jumps for a high score of 82.18 points guaranteeing that she will be dropping as the last athlete in the finals.
Second on the day Voigt finished with 72.60 points for her run including among all a switch backside 540 indy and a frontside 720 stalefish, while the Dutch veteran Mass impressed the judges with her technical rail section and a backside 720 tail for a total score of 72.05 and a third place.
Unfortunately the men were not as lucky and as their training got interrupted with heavy snowfall and low visibility, the jury has decided to postpone men's qualifications until Friday at 14:10.
Also ladies' finals has been also rescheduled for Friday's at 9:00.
