Derungs and Laesser Swiss Big Air Champions
Aug 31, 2018·Snowboard Park & PipeIsabel Derungs and Martin Laesser have wrapped up a long 2017-18 winter in style taking home the Swiss big air crown at Corvatsch where the season's final Europa Cup event had also served as the Swiss nationals.
Derungs, who had earned the slopestyle title just a few days ago, brought down two well-executed tricks to get her hands on another Gold.
The 30-year-old relegated their younger teammates Mona Danuser (16) and Shirly Kolodziej (15) to the respective second and third rank.
In the men's event, Laesser benefitted from some bad landings of his en-favourite competitors to secure the title.
With a score of 163.3 the 20-year-old not only placed third in EC event behind of Stef Vanderweyer (BEL) and Sacha Moretti (FRA) but also as best of the Swiss team.
Swiss Slopestyle Champion Moritz Thoenen (21) and Nicolas Huber (23) rounded out the national's podium in second and third position by placing fifth and sixth of the Europa Cup, respectively.
