With the Kreischberg slopestyle World Cup opener in the books, the snowboard freestyle tour continues in Laax (SUI) with one of Europe's most important events: the LAAX OPEN.

From January 16 to 21 this season's second event for both, slopestyle and halfpipe is on the programme.

It's the second time that the snowboard freestyle driven resort hosts a World Cup stop with the so far sole event dating back to December 2002.

More than 14 years later, Laax is finally back on the map bringing together some 200 athletes including icons, tons of pros as well as up-and-coming talents to showcase their tricks and style on the Crap Sogn Gion mountain.

The field is led by 20016 LAAX OPEN winners Ayumu Hirano (JPN) and Mark McMorris (CAN) whilst also featuring the likes of Olympic champions Jamie Anderson (USA) and Iouri Podladtchikov (SUI).
