The jewel of northern Italy and one of the great metropolises of Europe, there's little to be said about Milan that has not already been stated.

From fashion to commerce, history to gastronomy, glittering skyscrapers to towering cathedrals, and so much more in between, the city of more than 4 million people offers something for nearly everyone, drawing visitors year round from the world over.

However, one thing which is often under the radar is the Milanese landscape being a winter sport backdrop with snowboarders, 10 or so metres up in the air, bringing around and setting down a dizzying array of almost unfathomably difficult tricks.

After Local Organisers together with FIS brought back World Cup action to Milan last year - ending a waiting time of more than ten years - BIG AIR AND THE CITY is returning to the capital of the Lombardy region in 2017 again.

On November 11, a giant scaffold - in-run, jump, tabletop, and landing - covered with snow and illuminated with lights will play centre stage at the EXPerience park right next to the iconic Tree of Life for some of the world's best snowboarders soaring through Milan's air.
