First things first, yesterday was Mother's Day in a big number of nations around the world, so we wanted to take this time to give a huge salute to all the moms out there - for the long drives to the hill, for tying our boots and making sure we don't forget our gloves, for laughing it off when we ruin the good clothes iron waxing our boards, and for every other incredible thing that they do for us...MUCH LOVE.

Now on to a little exciting business from us, as the first of what will be five "Classics Live" polls went down last week. We asked you the fans to vote on which classic World Cup competition you would like us to stream in its entirety on our YouTube channel, and the votes are in - with Pierre Vaultier's (FRA) 2007 victory in Valle Nevado (CHI) the clear winner. Next up, we're happy to report that the 2019/20 slopestyle awards are finally reaching their destinations after the season got cut short early and the trophies and medals got caught up in covid-19 confusion for a little while there. For whatever reason we haven't had a lot of workout content in the Mix over the last few weeks (possibly because we're feeling guilty for letting our routine slide ourselves, although really who's to say??), but these photos from Swiss ruler Sina Candrian have us feeling pretty inspired today. Is there a better setting on earth for a yoga session?

ACTUAL SNOWBOARDING INTERRUPTION #2: Matty Cox Edition 🇦🇺

Time to check in with the SBX corner of the internets, beginning with our friends at SBX Life, who had a digital sit-down with reigning Olympic champion and 2019/20 crystal globe winner Michela Moioli of Italy last week. Watch part one of that interview here:

Meanwhile, Belle Brockhoff announced that for the second year in a row she'll be part of the Community Custodians program back home in Australia, raising awareness and funds for suicide prevention and mental health assistance...

And a bit of bittersweet news, as a couple of SBX veterans announced their retirements this past week, with Germany's Konstantine Schad and Nelly Moenne Loccoz of France both hanging up their race bibs.

A veteran of 13 World Cup seasons and 75 races, Schad earned one victory and three podiums in that period, with his last podium coming on home soil at Feldberg back in 2018/19.

“My family decided the end of my career. When you have children - it is highly emotional, it changes you fundamentally," explained the father of two on his decision. “It was always clear to me that after all these years I wanted to be there for my children. Of course, I would also love to snowboard, but the priorities have shifted,” says Schad.

Moenne Loccoz, meanwhile, has been one of the sport's top riders for the better part of 13 seasons, earning the 2014/15 SBX crystal globe, world championships SBX team event gold in 2017, individual world champs silver twice, as well as three World Cup victories and 22 podiums in her 83 career competitions.

"I have decided to end my sports career," said the 30-year-old in a statement, "Surprisingly this decision has come quite easily for me. I think the time had come after more than ten years in the French team. My aspirations have evolved and I want to invest in new projects."
