2021/22 Park & Pipe Continental Cup wrap-up
Apr 27, 2022·Snowboard Park & PipeThe final FIS Snowboard Continental Cup event of the season took to Austria’s Kitzsteinhorn last week, and that halfpipe competition wrapped up a hugely successful 2021/22 campaign that saw some 17 European Cup and 18 NorAm Cup competitions go down over the course of the winter.
We witnessed some tight battles for top spot on the various rankings that went right down to the very end of the season, as the next generation of stars fought to claim overall wins and lock down a personal World Cup quota spot for themselves for the 2022/23 season.
In NorAm Cup action it was a strong season for the US squad, where we saw Kaitlyn Adams and Fynn Bullock-Womble finishing atop the respective women’s and men’s slopestyle & big air standings, while Jason Wolle claimed the overall win in the men’s halfpipe NorAm rankings.
Top spot for women’s NorAm halfpipe went to Korea’s Gaon Choi who, at just 13 years old, will unfortunately be too young to compete on the World Cup circuit next season. However, signs point to her being able to make an immediate impact when she is able to join the tour in 2023/24, so we suggest you rmember the name Gaon Choi.

Meanwhile, it was also Switzerland atop the men’s slopestyle & big air overall rankings with Nick Puenter finishing off his breakout season strong. For the women, 15-year-old Mia Brookes emerged as one of the 2021/22 season’s most exciting young talents, dominating the slopestyle & big air rankings to punch her ticket to the World Cup next season.
