There’s just 10 days to go before the 2022/23 FIS Snowboard Park & Pipe season resumes, when we’ll be on site at Kreischberg (AUT) from 13-14 January for the final big air World Cup of the winter - and the first event of what will be the busiest three months of the 2022/23 campaign.

Kreischberg will be the fourth of four big air World Cups for 2022/23, and there we’ll see the first of this season’s crystal globe winners awarded for their efforts. With three big air World Cups in the books, it’s Jasmine Baird of Canada and Japan’s Reira Iwabuchi tied atop the women’s rankings with 160 points, while Valentino Guseli of Australia leads the men with 164 points.

However, in both the women’s and the men’s big air globe races there are at least 10 riders still mathematically capable of walking away with the trophy, so there’s plenty left to be decided come 14 January in Kreischberg.

After Kreischberg it’s finally time to get the slopestyle World Cup campaign off and running, beginning in Switzerland at the legendary Laax Open from 18-21 January, before we hop back over to North America and hit Mammoth Mountain (USA) for the Toyota U.S. Grand Prix from 01-04 February and then Calgary (CAN) for the Snow Rodeo from 09-12 Feb.

Laax, Mammoth and Calgary will all be double features, as well, with halfpipe World Cup competitions playing out alongside the slopestyle action. The halfpipe crystal globes will be awarded in Calgary on 10 February.

After that it’s the biggest event of the season, as we shift to Georgia for the Bakuriani 2023 FIS Freestyle Ski, Snowboard and Freeski World Championships from February 19 to March 5, before we close the season out in Silvaplana (SUI) with the slopestyle World Cup finals, with the slopestyle crystal globes and the Park & Pipe overall titles to be awarded there in Corvatsch on March 26.

Really, the 2022/23 World Cup season is just about to switch into top gear now, and we can’t wait to see how it all plays out in the coming weeks.
