The countdown is on for one of the biggest events of the FIS Park & Pipe World Cup season, as another massive week of slopestyle and halfpipe action at the Laax Open is slated to begin on Tuesday 16 January, with men’s SB slopestyle qualifications leading things off at what is perhaps Europe’s most legendary freestyle resort.

With its pedigree hosting some of the very finest competitions on the European continent dating back well over 20 years now, the Laax Open continues to be a celebration of all things snowboard, bringing together athletes, teams and industry heavyweights from around the world for a celebration of shred that has long been a highlight on the calendar of the competitive snowboard world.

And now, with the seamless addition of freeski slopestyle to the programme last season, the Laax Open is bigger and wilder than its ever been, bringing the most progressive snowsports athletes on the planet all together in one place for a week of comradery and competition unlike any other.

After men’s SB slopestyle qualifications on Tuesday it’s on to men’s freeski slopestyle qualifications on Wednesday, 17 January. Thursday will then see women’s slopestyle semifinals for both snowboard and freeski, followed on by a huge day on Friday which will see men’s semifinals going down for both snowboard and freeski, as well as women’s and men’s halfpipe semifinals.

After that it’s on to the weekend’s slate of Laax Open finals showdowns, with women’s and men’s snowboard competitions leading things off on Saturday beginning at 13:15 CET. With just a couple of hours to catch our breath after slope, Saturday’s action continues in the evening, with a few thousand of our closest friends joining us pipe-side for halfpipe finals under the Laax lights beginning at 18:15.

With the snowboard side of things done and dusted on Saturday night, it’ll be all eyes back on the slopestyle course on Sunday afternoon, where women’s and men’s freeski finals will be dropping in at 13:15 to close out the Laax Open festivities for what will no doubt be a heavy-hitting ender to the action.

There will be plenty more to come next week, so stay tuned for our full event previews here on the website over the weekend, and to our social media channels for choice content and updates as they happen.

And remember, all finals from Laax will be streamed live at open.laax.com/ and on RedBull TV...
