FIS Freestyle Asian Cup promises an action-packed season
Dec 10, 2024·FreestyleAfter exploring the Continental Cup in North America and the Europa Cup last month, we’re thrilled to unveil the confirmed calendar for the FIS Freestyle Asian Cup. With six distinct events spanning four nations, this year’s tour promises to be better than ever, spotlighting the growth and vibrancy of freestyle skiing in Asia.
The action begins on January 7 at the stunning Beidahu Ski Resort in China. As a brand-new World Cup venue, Beidahu is set to host an Aerials competition, providing an early glimpse of the top-tier action that will follow in February with the combined Aerials World Cup event.
The tour quickly moves to Shymbulak Mountain Resort in Almaty, Kazakhstan, a venue synonymous with world-class freestyle skiing. Having hosted the 2023 World Championships and numerous World Cups, Shymbulak welcomes the athletes for another Aerials competition on January 14.
February promises an exciting lineup starting with the return to China for an Aerials and Aerials Mixed Team event in Yabli, running from February 8-10. Shortly after, the spotlight shifts to Gangwon, Korea, where the Moguls tour will hit the slopes from February 13-14. Notably, Gangwon hosted the 2024 Youth Olympic Games last season, making this event a special follow-up to the incredible competition showcased there.
March marks the conclusion of the Asian Cup, beginning with a Moguls event in Bankei, Japan on March 2. The following day, Shymbulak Mountain Resort in Almaty returns to the schedule with an exhilarating Dual Moguls event on March 3, adding to the excitement of a packed weekend of World Cup action in the same location.
Finally, the season wraps up with a two-day showdown in Tayoma, Japan, from March 8-9, concluding an intense and competitive tour.
The 2024/25 FIS Freestyle Asian Cup promises to be an extraordinary journey, with top athletes showcasing their skills in both Aerials and Moguls disciplines. With prestigious venues, diverse nations, and high-stakes competitions, the calendar reflects the immense growth and potential of freestyle skiing across Asia.
