Mikaela Shiffrin (USA) has been selected from Women’s Sports Foundation as a finalist for the 2023 INDIVIDUAL Sportswoman of the Year Award.
The American champion is joined in the voting by other distinguished athletes such as swimmer Katie Ledecky, tennis player Iga Świątek,figure skater Kaori Sakamoto and you can see the other nominated athletes here.
Athletes were considered for this year’s award based on their athletic achievements between July 1, 2022 and June 30, 2023 and we named 10 finalists in individual sports and 10 in team sports.
Voting began today at 10am EST and will conclude on Tuesday, August 8 at 11:59pm EST. The winners will be determined by a combination of a public vote and the WSF Awards Committee’s vote and announced at the Annual Salute to Women in Sports on October 12, 2023.
