As usually at this time of the year the FIS Council held its spring meeting session this past week on Wednesday 24th that saw a full agenda, including various reports from the 2022/23 season, proposal from the FIS Technical Committees and rules updates, among all. The most exciting news for all freestyle and snowboard fans around the world, however, was the approval of all calendars for the upcoming 2023/24 World Cup campaign.

And to begin with we’re taking a look forward at the FIS Snowboard Alpine World Cup calendar.

Just like in 2022/23, also the 2023/24 World Cup season will kick off in Germany with the opener taking to the slopes of Winterberg on December 9-10 (dates to be confirmed).

From Winterberg, the tour will then travel over to the Italian dolomites for two classic PGS races on December 14 and 16 in Carezza and Cortina d’Ampezzo, respectively, before moving on to the brand new World Cup venue in world-renowned Davos (SUI), with the second parallel slalom of the season taking place just before the holiday break on December 23.

Moving into 2024, the tour will see its second stop of the season on Swiss soil, with some of the most epic views on tour in Scuol on January 13, before heading to Bad Gastein for a stunning parallel slalom under the lights and parallel slalom team event just three days later on January 16-17.

After that we’ll travel to another new venue in Bulgaria’s Pamporovo with back-to-back PSL races on January 20-21, with PGS race in Rogla following right after on January 25 and another double header just two days later in Austria’s Simonhoehe just two days later to close out an action-packed month.

Heading into February, the tour will then travel across the Atlantic Ocean with two PGS races in Canada’s Blue Mountain, wrapping up a highly intensive streak of 10 competitions over the course of just 21 days.

Following a little break the world’s best snowboard racers will then head to Krynica for the historic first FIS Snowboard World Cup event in Poland on January 24-25, before the 2023/24 season will once again conclude in Berchtesgaden (GER) with a parallel slalom and parallel slalom team competitions on March 16-17.

All in all, the 2023/24 FIS Snowboard Alpine World Cup tour will see a total of 12 stops in eight countries. 19 events will be hosted, comprising six parallel slalom, nine parallel giant slalom and four parallel team competitions.
